Codes & Standards

DBSG Members are bound by the DBSG Code of Conduct. Our Code of Conduct guarantees that the very highest standards are applied by our members; this not only adds value to the sale and purchase industry but also gives value to your business. Giving your current and potential clients the confidence that they can expect the very highest standard from your company.

A Debt Purchase section has also been added to the CSA Code of Conduct. DBSG members should adhere to these provisions.

This code is now the benchmark for Best Practice in the industry, assuring quality and professionalism in the services members provide. For further best practice guidance please sign into the members zone and go to the Guidance & Compliance section.

Members should:

  • Conduct business lawfully
  • Conduct dealings with debtors in a fair and reasonable manner
  • Maintain a high standard of business practice
  • Compete in a fair and reasonable manner
  • Ensure all staff are provided with adequate training
  • Not discriminate
  • Protect the reputation of clients
  • Remit monies collected regularly to clients
  • Not knowingly misrepresent qualifications, experience and abilities
  • Handle debt cases in a fair and reasonable manner
