NEW CSA CHIEF OFFICIALLY TAKES OFFICE

29/01/2010

(January 27th, 2010) From February 1st, Peter Wallwork will formally assume responsibilities as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Credit Services Association (CSA), the official voice of the UK debt collection industry. He succeeds Kurt Obermaier, the outgoing Executive Director who retires at the end of April after more than a decade in office.

Peter has more than 25 years experience in the financial services sector including branch banking and secured mortgage lending working for major high street names, before moving to focus on collections and recoveries. In the last 10 years he has held senior sales and marketing positions at NCO and iQor, both CSA members, and was most recently Sales and Marketing Director for Gothia Limited.

His primary objective is to build on the success of his predecessor, re-inforcing the CSA’s status as one of the major trade associations within the financial services industry: “I intend getting out to meet the Members as early as possible,” he says, “and re-asserting the mission of the Association.”

“I want to build on the work that has gone before, and am fortunate to have Kurt to work alongside me for the first two months to help ease the transition into my new role and responsibility.”

Commenting on the change of title specifically, Peter says that this reflects the maturity of the CSA: “The title of CEO is more appropriate for a modern, vibrant Association such as ours,” he says, “and sends a signal that the CSA is a progressive organisation that is constantly looking forward, rather than back.”

Peter’s duties start with preparing for the Association’s half-yearly conference on February 10th.
